Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon early sales compared to Pokémon Sun & Moon, Diamond & Pearl and Black & White

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon sold a combined total of about 1,163,000 copies since they first went on sale in Japan on November 17. They sold about 60 percent of the original Pokémon Sun and Moon, which sold about 1,893,000 units in their first week. That’s roughly the same ratio as Pokémon Platinum from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, with sales going from 1,589,000 to 963,000 units for a 60.63 percent ratio. It’s also similar to Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 from the original Pokémon Black and White.

However, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon had a lower sell-through rate for both the regular games and the double pack. Also, the regular versions didn’t reach 70 percent. Considering that the original Pokémon Sun and Moon were released during the same time frame last year and sold about 983,000 copies just in December, sales tracker Media Create believes that Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon can obtain more sales throughout the holiday season as demand for gifts will be high around then.
