The Pokémon Company coins the word Tragikarp to highlight Magikarp’s pathetic existence in POKÉMON Detective Pikachu

POKÉMON Detective Pikachu is less than one month away from it’s premiere in theaters! To celebrate the upcoming release The Pokémon Company and Warner Bros. are continuing to reveal new footage and content leading up to the highly-anticipated date of May 10, 2019. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular hero himself, with Justice Smith playing a leading role as Tim Goodman and Kathryn Newton as Lucy Stevens. Reynolds has uploaded new footage that gives us a look at Jigglypuff, Pancham, Aipom, Dodrio, Venusaur, Eevee, Charizard, Pikachu, Psyduck, Snubbull, Squirtle, Lickitung, Bulbasaur, Cubone, Flareon, Pangoro, Ludicolo, Emolga, Charmander, Loudred, Purrloin, Rufflet, Sneasel, Torterra, Treecko, Kingler, Magikarp and Mewtwo.

The footage also reveals a Detective Pikachu promo card for the Pokémon TCG that will only be available in theaters with the purchase of a ticket, while supplies last. Meanwhile, tickets for the film are now on sale at Fandango. Parental Guidance is suggested for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, which is rated PG due to action/peril, some rude and suggestive humor, and thematic elements. Tickets will go on sale beginning April 25 in the UK, while the promo card will be available exclusively for those who purchase tickets to see the movie in 3D. As you can see in the embedded video below, Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody is the song featured in the latest trailer POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.
