Spectator registration fee is $10 per person for the 2019 Pokémon World Championships

2019 Worlds Event Registration

Registration for the World Championships will take place entirely online.

A badge is required to enter the event space at all times. Badges must be visibly worn while within the event space.

Badges can only be purchased online using a credit or debit card, and can only be picked up on site at the event. Cash or check payments for badges will not be accepted.

Competitors and spectators can check in and pick up their badges at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Room 146 on the street level near the North Lobby on Thursday, and outside Hall D on the second level on Friday through Sunday at the following times:

Thursday, August 15, 5–8 p.m.
Friday, August 16, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, August 17, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, August 18, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Main event competitors playing on Friday must check in and receive their badge on Thursday. Players who received a Day Two invitation and begin play on Saturday may check in anytime Thursday or Friday by 3 p.m. EDT.

Proof of age may be requested during check-in. Failure to provide proof of age may result in the player being denied participation in the tournament, at the organizer’s discretion.

Registration for Main Event Competitors

Qualified competitors who have received invitations are highly encouraged to RSVP via the online registration system. There is no registration fee for competitors.

All competitors will receive one competitor badge and Worlds lanyard, plus one spectator badge for a guest or parent/guardian. This spectator badge will not include any other items. Any additional spectator badges must be purchased online. All competitors who RSVP online will also be guaranteed to receive a welcome kit. Items will be distributed on site at the event. Substitute product may be provided if necessary. Players who do not RSVP in advance will still be allowed to play, but may not be guaranteed to receive a welcome kit.

Competitors will be required to provide their name, player ID number, and some form of ID to pick up their competitor badge. Junior and Senior Division competitors must also have a guardian present to pick up their competitor badge.

Eligible players must be present to pick up a welcome kit. Welcome kits will not be distributed to anyone other than the eligible player.

Bag and Personal Items Policy

To ensure the safety of all attendees, the following items will not be permitted into the event:

  • Items which could be considered “weapons” and would not pass airline security (including all firearms, sharp objects, mock weapons, and sprays)
  • Electronic smoking devices
  • Bags larger than 9″ x 14″ x 22″ (23 cm x 36 cm x 56 cm). If an airline would not classify it as a carry-on, it is too big. Please check with your hotel about bag storage options.
  • Alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance
  • Full facial coverings, such as masks
  • Apparel, objects, or signs with explicit wording or pictures
  • Animals (other than service animals)

All bags are subject to search upon entry to the event, and security retains the right to refuse entry.

Good luck to all competitors at the 2019 Pokémon World Championships!
