The NPD Group has revealed that Nintendo Switch managed to outsell Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December 2019. “Nintendo Switch was again the best-selling hardware platform of November and remains the best-selling platform of 2019,” NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said. “Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware platform of both December and 2019,” NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said. “While Sony’s PlayStation 4 finished as the best-selling hardware of the decade.” Piscatella went on to say that “Hardware spending in December 2019 declined 17% when compared to a year ago, to $973 million. Annual hardware spending fell 22 percent, to $3.9 billion. Nintendo Switch gains could not offset declines across other platforms.”
