Entei will use permanent field effects that reduce physical damage or reduce special damage, and at least one of these will be effective at all times.
You should do your best to land critical hits, since they will deal damage that ignores field effects.
Raising your critical-hit rate with Dire Hit All and Dire Hit +—or using moves that ensure the next attack is a critical hit—will make it easier for you to land critical hits.
On occasion, Entei can also ensure its next attack is a critical hit and raise its critical-hit rate, allowing it to unleash powerful attacks.
Entei has a low resistance to flinch, so this condition is a good way to halt its moves for a set amount of time.
Since Water-type moves are Entei’s weakness, Waterfall, which has a small chance of making the opponent flinch, is particularly effective.
Entei’s flinch resistance increases every time it recovers from flinching, so it’s best to time your moves wisely.

- You can use Siebold & Clawitzer’s The Definition of Art! to guarantee a critical hit on your next attack. Try following this up with a Sync Move for massive damage!
