Niantic updates list of Pokémon GO known issues currently being investigated by its engineering team as of March 30

Niantic has updated the official Known Issues support page for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Known Issues

Here is where you can find a list of issues currently being investigated by our engineering team. This list will be updated regularly, and issues will be added and removed as they are discovered and resolved. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of all issues we are aware of or working to fix. You can find the list of known issues related to GO Battle League here

Emojis in Pokémon names cause the app to crash.
Issue description: Adding an emoji or special character at the end of a Pokémon nickname crashes the app and the Pokémon’s name will not be saved. 
Issue status: Investigating
 
AR Scanning Special Research tasks are not received from spinning Pokéstops.
Issue description: Some Trainers are not receiving AR Scanning Special Research tasks from Pokéstop spins.
Issue status: Resolved
 
Level Up statistics are incorrect.
Issue description: When a Trainer levels up, the number of Pokémon caught, raids  won, and Pokéstops visited in the Previous Level’s Activity pop-up does not reflect the actual numbers from the previous level.
Issue status: Investigating
 
When encountering Team GO Rocket, they will appear on the right side of the screen instead of centered.
Issue description: When a Trainer encounters Team GO Rocket, the character will appear off-center on the screen.
Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release (0.205)
 
The new referral pop-up appears any time the app is opened.
Issue description: Trainers are presented with the referral feature pop-up every time the app is opened. Currently the referral feature is only available in Australia.
Issue status: Resolved
 
Trainers are stuck on GO during Gym Battles.
Issue description: Trainers were unable to enter Gym Battles for a period of downtime. This issue is now resolved.
Issue status: Resolved
 
Blank Niantic Profile.
Issue description: Some trainers who have been upgraded to the newest version of Niantic Friends may see a blank Niantic Profile.
Issue status: Investigating
 
In-app news displays the incorrect text.
Issue description: The news within the app is not displaying correctly for Trainers.
Issue status: Resolved

Exchange for Candy XL is blocked if trainers have the exact number of Candy
Issue description:
 Trainers are unable to complete Candy XL exchanges when they have the exact number of Candy to convert to Candy XL.
Issue status: Resolved in 0.203.0
 
Field Research Task incorrectly stated as “Win a GO Battle League match” in order to complete the task, but it is only required that you complete a match
Issue description: For this specific task, trainers only need to complete a match to complete this task. Losing or winning the match does not affect completion of this task.
Issue status: Resolved
 
Maps may load incorrectly such as Pokèstops, Gyms, and Pokèmon not appearing outside of the immediate vicinity of player location
Issue description: When trainers open the app, Pokèstops, Gyms, and Pokèmon will load close by to the player. As trainers walk through the map it may take up to one minute to load. If trainers background the app while in motion, this bug may reset and take another minute to resolve.

Trainers are asked to use in-person Raid Pass instead of Remote Raid Pass when invited to a raid
Issue description: Occasionally, trainers are asked to use free daily Raid Pass or Premium Battle Pass instead of Remote Raid Pass when invited to a raid. They then are unable to participate in the raid with the error message “Walk closer to interact with this Gym.”
Issue status: Resolved
 
Mega Energy claimed through research rewards are not displayed properly (visual bug)
Issue description
: When collecting Mega Energy as a reward from a research task, the Mega Energy does not appear visually as a collected reward. This is a visual bug, and the Mega Energy is added correctly to the Trainer’s account and displayed correctly when viewing Pokémon of the corresponding evolution line.
