Which Pokémon to Use in an Regigigas Raid in Pokémon GO

As a Normal-type Pokémon, Regigigas has only one significant vulnerability: Fighting-type attacks. When choosing six Pokémon for your Regigigas Raid Battle lineup, it helps to choose Pokémon that have a Fighting-type Fast Attack and Charged Attack if you want to deal as much damage as possible. Fighting-type Pokémon using Fighting-type attacks will benefit from a same-type attack bonus, which will allow those attacks to deal an additional 20% damage.

Remember that the faster you defeat Regigigas, the more Premier Balls you’ll receive to catch it, so be sure to bring your strongest Pokémon team and battle with as many other Trainers as you can to defeat Regigigas as quickly as possible.

Make the Most of Premier Balls and Berries

After a Regigigas raid, you’ll have a limited number of Premier Balls you can use to catch Regigigas, so make each one count. You can earn extra Premier Balls for battling with friends and defeating Regigigas more quickly.

In an encounter with Regigigas, your chance of catching it is greatest when the target ring is small enough for you to score Excellent Throws. Throwing Curveballs can improve your chances even more. But work within your abilities—if you don’t think you can reliably make Excellent Curveball Throws, aim for Nice Throws or Great Throws rather than risk missing the target ring completely.

Regigigas isn’t going to make it easy on you by sitting still while you’re trying to catch it. Don’t waste your Premier Balls by throwing while it’s moving around. Watch Regigigas to get a feel for its cycle of movement and the pauses in between this movement. During one of these pauses, wait for the target ring to reappear, and then throw as it starts to grow smaller to increase your odds of making a Great Throw or an Excellent Throw.

Berries can help you catch Regigigas. A Razz Berry will make Regigigas easier to catch, and a Golden Razz Berry will make it much easier to catch. If you find yourself failing to land any throws, a Nanab Berry will calm Regigigas, making its movements less erratic and allowing you make precise throws more easily. If you need extra Regigigas Candy, using a Silver Pinap Berry will make Regigigas easier to catch and grant you extra Candy when you catch it.

Like all Legendary Pokémon, Regigigas is tricky to catch, so don’t be discouraged if it escapes. Get a second wind by stocking up on useful items—like Max Potions, Max Revives, and Golden Razz Berries—and try again.

What to Do with Regigigas Once You’ve Caught It

Regigigas’s Initial CP Range: 2,389–2,483

Regigigas’s Initial CP Range with Weather Boost: 2,987–3,104

Available Fast Attacks: Hidden Power (Normal), Rock Smash (Fighting), Zen Headbutt (Psychic)

Available Charged Attacks: Avalanche (Ice), Focus Blast (Fighting), Giga Impact (Normal), Heavy Slam (Steel), Stone Edge (Rock), Thunder (Electric)

As a Normal-type Pokémon, Regigigas doesn’t have a type advantage offensively. However, the fact that its only weakness is Fighting-type attacks can make it a useful Pokémon for Trainer Battles. Regigigas also has access to a wide range of attack types, including Normal, Electric, Ice, Psychic, Fighting, Rock, and Steel. This creates some advantages in the GO Battle League’s Master League.

Regigigas even is a solid choice for battling in Regigigas raids, as Focus Blast, Giga Impact, Hidden Power, and Rock Smash can deal good damage to opposing Regigigas.
