A number of Pokemon GO users have been experiencing difficulties when trying to sign up or log in. If you’re one those affected, you may have encountered the following error message several times for no apparent reason: “Unable to authenticate. Please try again.” However, you can rest assured that the development team is on the case and is trying to resolve these issues as soon as possible. Pokemon GO launched yesterday, July 6, as a free download for iOS and Android devices.
Pokemon GO users experiencing sign-up and log-in difficulties
I was able to play Poke GO for about 30 min before I was kicked. When I started back up the message shown above appeared. I have an IOS phone. None of my buddies with Android are having this problem. Pretty bummed about it. It’s been like this for 6 hours.

from what I hear, the majority of users encountering issues are on iOS. Hopefully it’s not much longer till they get resolved.

Needs to be way to change your email one of my emails in now expiring I am gonna lose this pokemon go account. Very frustrating that you can’t do a simple email change.

This feature is most likely coming in the future, but for now you can submit a request through the app by filling out a form to send to developer Niantic.

Is the bug is still present. I have IOS and PokemonGo version 1.0.2 and i’m no more able to connect with my Pokemon Trainer Club….always “Unable to authenticate. Please try again”
But on the site “club.pokemon.com” my logon passwork work!

It looks like a number of people are still encountering this particular issue. Some are even reporting that they’re being locked out of their account after trying to log in via Pokemon Trainer Club several times. Have you tried signing in with your Google account?

!!!!THANK YOU!!!! for sharing that url! (apparently it’s a ‘.go’ address , but ‘.com’ redirects via searchengine). I changed my password through that medium (to same password, which was permissed), and enabled login to the app.
So I have been having this exact issue, on & off every 24-40 hours or so, since I started about a week ago.
(I use an Android device, specifically Samsung J7 on T-Mobile). Initially I created account via my GMail account, but shortly thereafter for several reasons (added PTO store possible perks, Pikachu as starter pokemon, and biggest of all my public display name, as well as chosen Gym team none/blue/yellow/red). Often upon attempting to log in to my PTL account, I got\get the “Unable to authenticate. Please try again.” message, despite (in absence of widespread server issues )immediate access to the account linked via my GMail account.
Although possibly tuning co-incidence (though at 6h & counting between “functional” and “buggy” not “altogether down”, not likely..) will rely on this truck in the future. Additionally: Does officially logging-out prior to disengagement from the appgame for an extended period of time (e.g. sleep or work) help, hinder, or neither hurt not benefit, future access to one’s account and/or systemic strain on the servers (ie if too many player’s all opt not to sign_out during overlapping span of time (?

After failing to load for some time, it says “failed to log in.” Try logging in with a different account. Except that doesn’t work either. It’s literally stuck here. It won’t do anything. Hitting “Retry” just repeats the process.

Everytime I try to do A new account I get as far as Email and then I enter my email but it says this field cannot be blank when I have actually put my email in. Please fix because I would be so greatfull if I could play PokemonGO for the first time.

IOS user. I was signed in Now when I launch it, it says “failed to log in,” and just freezes there. I have to shut the whole thing down. Restarting phone changes nothing.

Android user. My daughter’s phone Keeps getting ‘failed to log in’ then blue ‘sign out’ box appears and app freezes.

I have an iPhone and it logged me out of Pokemon Go about a week ago… It won’t let me log back in and I want it to let me so when I go to the beach it works… I don’t think it will though… Anybody know how to help me? (It keeps saying “cannot verify” when I try to change my password cause it doesn’t seem to take the one I’m 90% sure I put)

I googled it and was able to log in after this same problem. Put your phone on airplane mode, open app, turn off airplane mode and the app will
give you the option to log out. then you can log in again. It worked for me. Hope this helps you as well.

I have an iPhone. I updated Pokèmon Go app 7/30. Unable to sign in with gmail. It took me as far as entering Gmail address and password. Looks like I got in but took me to Account Help instead. From there I click DONE. Then went back to sign in page then no more – a blank page.

One thing that JUST worked for me. Got that error for 30 minutes. Logged in using Google Sign on. Stayed logged in for about a minute, logged out and it relaunched using my Trainers sign in information.

I’m with u I’m level 24 just evolved loads of good pokemon and not I cant log in with Google and it comes up with “Unable to authenticate. Please try again” message plz help i just logged out to see if it helped with connectING to servers
