A study has found that although Pokemon GO isn’t as popular as it was when it first went out of the gate, the game’s retention rate is still pretty strong. In the U.S., Pokemon GO is currently the most popular smartphone game in terms of monthly active users – ahead of Candy Crush Saga, Words with Friends, Subway Surfers and Clash of Clans. “Each of these games has been around for years and has undergone many rounds of optimization for many metrics… including player retention,” explains SurveyMonkey Intelligence. “And Pokémon GO’s retention rate falls solidly in the middle of the pack when compared to the rates of these top mobile game performers.” Pokemon GO was initially released about three months ago on July 6 for iOS and Android.
