With the appearance of the Mythical Pokémon Mew, all 151 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region have been seen in Pokémon GO. To commemorate this milestone, developer Niantic is kicking off a special in-game event focused on the Kanto region later today, April 10. The event is dubbed Kanto Week and is scheduled to run until April 17.
During this period, there will be increased spawns of Kanto Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Pikachu. Snorlax and Aerodactyl also make their return as Raid Bosses. In addition, players will receive double the amount of Pokémon Candy when transferring or catching Pokémon. Special Boxes will also go on sale, including ones that come with Premium Raid Passes. According to Niantic, this event is aimed at players working toward achieving Silver and Gold Kanto medals as a step closer to finding Mew.
