New video: Pokémon the Series theme songs from the Kanto region

The Pokémon Company International announced the upcoming airing of the 1,000th episode of Pokémon the Series, the iconic animated television series that premiered in the US nearly 20 years ago. Chronicling the fantastic adventures of Ash and Pikachu alongside their many friends and companions, Pokémon the Series has taken viewers to a variety of different regions, islands, cities, and towns in the Pokémon world. The 1,000th episode is part of the latest season, Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon—Ultra Adventures, set in the tropical Alola region.

The episode promises to be memorable, as it features something not yet seen in the beloved series—a wedding! This special episode of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon—Ultra Adventures will air on Disney XD, and will be available on demand and on the DisneyNOW app in the US on Saturday, April 28 at 9:00 a.m. ET/PT. Leading up to this date, The Pokémon Company is celebrating its 1,000th episode of Pokémon the Series by sharing theme songs from different story arcs over the years – starting with Kanto:

Sing along if you know the words, Trainers! In 1998, the first English-language Pokémon theme song introduced the world to a young Trainer named Ash Ketchum and his best friend, Pikachu!
