Tatsumi Kimishima is stepping down as the president of Nintendo, a position he filled after Satoru Iwata passed away about three years ago. Kimishima is officially being replaced by Shuntaro Furukawa on June 28, 2018. Meanwhile, Satoru Shibata has also retired his role as the president of Nintendo of Europe. Shibata has instead moved to Japan to become a member of the board of directors for Nintendo Co., Ltd. In addition, Shibata has been promoted to a role as an Outside Director at The Pokémon Company.
