First-ever special trading event ends August 19 at 9 p.m. PDT in Pokémon GO

The first-ever special trading event is now live in Pokémon GO, during which all trade – including Special Trades – cost 25 percent less Stardust to complete. This lasts until August 19 at 9 p.m. PDT and applies to all friends, even brand-new ones. You can earn more Candy during every trade – netting up to six Candies for the Pokémon you receive. You’ll also receive triple XP when you gain a new entry in your Pokédex. There are three new boxes now available in the in-game shop as well:

  • Special Box – two Egg Incubators, four Lucky Eggs and four Star Pieces for 480 PokéCoins
  • Great Box – four Super Incubators, six Lucky Eggs, six Star Pieces and four Lure Modules for 780 PokéCoins
  • Ultra Box – 10 Super Incubators, nine Lucky Eggs, six Premium Raid Passes and nine Lure Modules for 1480 PokéCoins

The longer a Pokémon spends inside a Trainer’s Pokémon storage, the higher the chance of it becoming a Lucky Pokémon when traded. Lucky Pokémon require less Stardust to power up, which means they can reach a higher CP faster.
