2019 Play Pokémon Video Game Championships Regulations detailed for new GS Cup, Sun Series, Moon Series and Ultra Series

At the 2018 Pokémon World Championships, The Pokémon Company has officially detailed the 2019 Video Game Championships Regulations for the new GS Cup, Sun Series, Moon Series and Ultra Series:

GS Cup

Players may use any Pokémon except for Mythical Pokémon and Ash-Greninja. They may include only two of the Restricted Pokémon, like Mewtwo, Groudon, or Necrozma, on their teams.

  • Games: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon
  • Battle Format: Double Battle

Sun Series

  • September 4 – January 7
  • Z-Crystals and Mega Stones are banned
  • Red Orb and Blue Orb are banned
  • Rayquaza may not know Dragon Ascent

Moon Series

  • January 8 – April 1
  • Mega Stones are banned
  • Ultranecrozium-Z, Red Orb and Blue Orb are banned
  • Rayquaza may not know Dragon Ascent

  • April 2 – Worlds
  • Al Items allowed
  • All Moves allowed
