Pokémon GO Halloween and double Candy event ends tomorrow, November 1, at 1 p.m. PDT

Niantic is currently running the highly-anticipated Pokémon GO Halloween 2018 event, which officially kicked off worldwide last week. Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, such as Drifloon, Drifblim, Stunky and Skuntank, have made their Pokémon GO debuts. Shiny Drifloon and Shiny Drifblim are also available for the first time. Trainers can now earn double Candy for every Pokémon caught until November 1 at 1 p.m. PDT. During this event, Professor Willow will need your help on some limited-time Special Research. He’ll task you with completing Special Research tasks featuring Spiritomb before it goes away. You can also participate in Field Research featuring Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon throughout the event.

Plus, the Renegade Pokémon, Giratina, has made its first appearance in Raid Battles. This Ghost- and Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region has emerged from the Distortion World for an extended time, so challenge it before it leaves on November 20 at 1 p.m. PST. There was an initial bug affecting the display of Giratina’s CP and stats, but you can rest assured that Niantic has since fixed it. New avatar items featuring Ghost-type Pokémon are now available in the Style Shop:

  • Drifloon Cap for 250 PokéCoins
  • Mismagius Hat for 250 PokéCoins
  • Gengar Knit Cap for 200 PokéCoins
  • Drifblim Shirt for 200 PokéCoins
  • Spiritomb T-Shirt for 200 PokéCoins
  • Gengar Shirt for 200 PokéCoins
  • Gengar Backpack for 250 PokéCoins

Spooky hat Pikachu, Pichu and Raichu have returned for this year’s Halloween celebration; they are available for a limited time. Players were initially able to use TMs to teach the move Shadow Ball to Mewtwo, but Niantic has since removed this option. Three new boxes have also been added to the in-game store:

  • Special Box – two Egg Incubators, one Lucky Egg, three Premium Raid Passes and one Star Piece for 480 PokéCoins
  • Great Box – three Incense, three Super Incubators, three Lucky Eggs and seven Premium Raid Passes for 780 PokéCoins
  • Ultra Box – six Incense, 10 Super Incubators, six Lucky Eggs and 12 Premium Raid Passes for 1480 PokéCoins
