Realistic Pokémon artist was hired to work on the Pokémon Detective Pikachu movie

An artist who goes by the name RJ Palmer started drawing Pokémon as though they were realistic dinosaurs six years ago. Those sketches, which were initially done for fun, led to him getting the job of working on the Pokémon Detective Pikachu movie. Palmer says that the film’s production designer hired him when he googled “realistic Pokemon” and our posts on his 2012-13 art came up. Palmer spent about seven months on the movie in 2016-17, and contributed a number of Pokémon designs. You can check out some of his work by clicking here.
