The folks at the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) have chosen POKÉMON Detective Pikachu as their top choice in Editor’s Picks from the week of November 11:
Nightmare Fuel of the Week
We’ve had more than two years to prepare ourselves for Pokémon Detective Pikachu, the first live-action film in the unstoppable franchise’s history, but after gazing deep into Pikachu’s coal-black eyes (and, to paraphrase Nietzsche, having them gaze back into us,) we realize no amount of time could’ve prepared us for this horror. Just look at that thing — it’s like it knows your darkest secrets. Somehow, the voice of Ryan Reynolds and the adorable Sherlock Holmes hat only make IRL Pikachu more unsettling, BTW.

Elephant of the Week
Duh, it’s Dumbo. This week, we got to see even more of Tim Burton‘s live-action version of the Disney classic … and promptly had to apologize to our coworkers for sobbing in the office. From Dumbo’s doe eyes to the scene where he’s separated from his mom, this trailer packs an emotional wallop, making it a nice antidote to the unspeakable horror of Detective Pikachu. So, uh, thanks for that, Danny.
