Pokémon fans are bombarding all of The Pokémon Company’s tweets with #BringBackNationalDex for Pokémon Sword and Shield

Although it is compatible with Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon HOME only allows you to transfer in Pokémon that appear in the Galar Pokédex. In a recent interview, Game Freak producer Junichi Masuda explained why this is the case. “There are a couple of different parts to the thinking behind it, but really the biggest reason for it is just the sheer number of Pokemon,” he said. “We already have well over 800 Pokemon species, and there’s going to be more added in these games. And now that they’re on the Nintendo Switch, we’re creating it with much higher fidelity with higher quality animations. But even more than that, it’s coming down to the battle system. We’re making sure we can keep everything balanced and give all the Pokemon that appear in the games a chance to shine.”

Because of their disapproval of Game Freak’s decision, fans have taken to social media to keep #BringBackNationalDex active on places like Twitter to make sure it gets attention. Pokémon fans are also bombarding all of The Pokémon Company’s tweets with the hashtag, even if the respective tweet is completely unrelated to the upcoming duo of Pokémon games.
