For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is beyond honored to display the extraordinary art of the amazing Amber Lily, also known by her pseudonym ambercitus. This talented artist had the opportunity to take part in the sixth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada, the marvelous project led by the dream team at Ilustradoras Unidas.
For Amber, art is a way to add color to her existence.
It helps her embellish things and add a more personal meaning or representation to them that makes her feel more comfortable.
Pokémon is also something that makes her feel comfortable.
“I’ve always loved Pokémon,” she explained to the Pokémon Blog Team. “I really like animals and little monsters in general. Along with other Nintendo and anime characters, their designs have shaped my style. I find their stories and narratives very beautiful.”
Regarding her experience with the sixth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada, Amber considers it a great opportunity: “I’m very grateful that Ilustradoras Unidas considered me and gave me the chance to be a part of this project.”
Her favorite Pokémon is Gloom because she finds beauty in the unconventional.
“This Pokémon looks sad and strange and also repels other Pokémon with her smell without meaning to. Gloom only wants to be accepted and loved by others, and I find that very endearing,” she concluded.
