For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is beyond honored to display the spectacular art of the talented Khira Yoshi. She is one of the incredible artists who have contributed to three generations of Pokédex Ilustrada,, the marvelous project led by the dream team at Ilustradoras Unidas.
For her, art represents a safe place to express herself — a language through which she can show her true feelings and affection toward others.
The Pokémon franchise embodies nostalgia for her, as she grew up with it.
“I started with the anime series, then I got into the TCG (mainly for the art; I don’t know how to play). Through friends, I later discovered the video games. I also played Pokémon Go when it was first released. So, Pokémon has always been in my life one way or another,” she explained to the Pokémon Blog Team.
She also recalled her experience participating in Pokédex Ilustrada: “I was very excited when I found out, and I started sketching very quickly. I’ve enjoyed every opportunity I’ve had to participate to the fullest, always trying new techniques. The first time was with watercolors, then with digital art, and this last time with oil pastels.”
Her favorite Pokémon is Jolteon.
“I love his design; it’s a cute mix of fluffiness and aggressiveness. As soon as I have the chance to get him in the games, I don’t hesitate for a second. I also get the impression that he’s always anxious, which makes me identify with him,” she concluded.
