Pokémon Sleep announces Mewtwo event for September with Mew support and new Berry Zone skill

Pokémon Sleep will introduce a Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo event in September 2026, giving players the chance to encounter Mewtwo at Greengrass Isle and Greengrass Isle (Expert). During the event, Psychic-type helper Pokémon will receive bonuses, while the Mythical Pokémon Mew will play a supporting role in researching Mewtwo’s sleep styles. To help newer players prepare, The Pokémon Company also plans to hold a special event before September that will allow players to encounter Mew, alongside changes designed to ensure friendship points earned for Mew are not lost after befriending it. Mewtwo will debut with the exclusive main skill Psystrike (Berry Zone), which increases Snorlax’s strength and creates a persistent Berry Zone that boosts the energy gained from Mago Berries, with repeated activations stacking the effect up to a maximum level. Mewtwo will also be classified as a Special Pokémon, meaning only one Special Pokémon can normally be included on a helper team, with Latias and Latios remaining the lone exception.
