Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has received a free update for Nintendo Switch 2 that adds eight-player split-screen racing on a single console, CameraPlay support and improved visuals and loading times. With enough compatible controllers, up to eight players can now race together on one Nintendo Switch 2 system, expanding local multiplayer for larger groups. The update also introduces CameraPlay, allowing players to connect a compatible USB camera and display their faces on screen while racing, with the feature supporting two to four players and working with friends online through GameChat. Nintendo Switch 2 also brings sharper visuals when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is played on the system’s display or a high-resolution TV, while improved loading times allow players to get into races faster. An internet connection is required to download the free update, while CameraPlay requires a compatible USB camera sold separately and online GameChat features require an internet connection, Nintendo Switch Online membership and Nintendo Account.
