Pokémon TCG Pocket reveals major October update with new battles and Community Decks

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is set for a major update toward the end of October 2026 that will overhaul Step-Up Battles, deck features and several existing rewards and purchases. Step-Up Battles will be replaced with a new battle format that increases in difficulty as players progress, meaning the current stages, first-time rewards and battle task rewards will no longer be available after the update. The update will also introduce Community Decks, allowing players to browse decks shared by other Trainers, copy them and check which cards they still need, while Rental Decks will be redesigned to offer unlimited use of decks built around cards from the latest booster packs, with the available decks rotating periodically. Existing Theme Deck lists and Rental Decks will be deleted, while Deck Missions will be discontinued, and the elite deck gift missions originally scheduled to end Oct. 28 will instead conclude Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. The current Release Celebration Poké Gold bundles will also end with the start of the new series, with new offers planned, while the Pikachu promo card exchange remains available until Nov. 1 at 9:59 a.m. before a new promo card becomes available at 10 a.m. Additional features and content are planned alongside the new series.
