Live-action Pokemon film featuring Detective Pikachu has been announced

The first live-action film adaptation of Pokemon has officially been announced, following a deal reached between Legendary Entertainment and The Pokemon Company. The forthcoming movie will be based on the Nintendo 3DS title Great Detective Pikachu, which is currently only available in Japan. Production is scheduled to start in 2017 and Universal will be the distributor for territories outside Japan, according to Deadline. Check out the debut trailer for the game below:
