Charmander is by far the most popular starter in Pokemon GO

Traditionally, there are three starter Pokemon you can choose between in Pokemon GO – Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Out of this classic trio, a whopping 53 percent of players chose the Fire type Charmander as their starter. Meanwhile, 24 percent selected the Water type Squirtle and 23 percent went with the Grass/Poison type Bulbasaur. This data is based on an official poll conducted by developer Niantic, with more than 180,000 participants who cast their votes.
