The newly-released Pokemon GO Plus is capable of tracking distance walked when Pokemon GO is running in the background on your smartphone. While the mobile game is operating in the background, distance walked is applied toward hatching Pokemon Eggs and Candy earned for Buddy Pokemon. However, Pokemon GO Plus cannot provide alerts for any Pokemon attracted by the in-game item Incense.
