Game Freak didn’t intend for Yungoos and Gumshoos to resemble Donald Trump

A significant amount of Pokemon fans have been comparing Pokemon Sun and Moon newcomers Yungoos and especially its evolved form Gumshoos to Donald Trump. But according to Game Freak‘s Junichi Masuda, his team did not intend either Pokemon to resemble the Republican presidential nominee in any way, shape or form. “It’s a very American-centric question I think, and actually a lot of people sent me comparison photos on Twitter pointing out the resemblance,” Masuda told Game Informer. “But we had started the design of this Pokémon a long time back, and we didn’t have any intention to make it look like Donald Trump.” On a somewhat related note, the final presidential debate between Trump and the Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton is taking place right now in Las Vegas, Nevada.
