In Pokemon GO, the popular Eevee now hatches exclusively from five-kilometer Eggs. Prior to this, it could only be hatched from a 10-kilometer Egg. According to developer Niantic, Eevee is the “first example” of how the distance required to hatch an Egg could change, suggesting further tweaks to the Egg-hatching system down the line. “Prof. Willow’s recent study indicates that the distance required to hatch a Pokémon could change and Eevee is likely the first example,” a rep for the company told Polygon. “No other reported cases yet, but stay tuned.”
