Here’s why Exeggutor’s neck is really long in Pokemon Sun and Moon

Exeggutor‘s original design has been tweaked for Pokemon Sun and Moon, where it sports a really long neck. The physical change is primarily due to the heavy sunlight in the new Alola region, according to Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori. “We wanted to look at them as real living creatures and think, perhaps if they had been moved over and lived in the Alola region where there’s lots of sunlight, how would they have changed?,” Ohmori said in an interview with Nintendo of Europe. “For example, with Exeggutor, there is a lot of sunlight so its neck gets really long – that kind of thing! We wanted to think about how we could make these Pokémon appropriate to this new location.”
