Pikachu and Snowman Pikachu helped kick off the 2016 holiday season by appearing during the ongoing Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which began at 9 a.m. ET. As Pikachu had its brief moment onscreen, NBC host Matt Lauer mentioned the recently-released games Pokemon Sun and Moon. The Pokemon icon was among numerous balloons that soared through New York City, including Hello Kitty, Charlie Brown, Ronald McDonald, Thomas the Tank Engine and the Red Ranger from Power Rangers. This marked the 16th time Pikachu was a part of the parade.
