What a year it’s been for Pokemon GO. The popular augmented-reality game launched within the second half of 2016, but that didn’t stop it from becoming the most searched topic on Google. Throughout the year, Pokemon GO was a more common search term than iPhone 7, Donald Trump, Prince and Powerball. “Pokémon Go took our lists — and the world — by storm this year,” Google writes on its official blog. “The addictive game appeared four times in our list of top 10 “How to…” questions, with “How to play Pokémon Go?” at the top. Clearly searchers were eager to learn how to catch ‘em all!” Pokemon GO recently expanded to India, Pakistan and several other South Asian countries.
