Over 88 billion Pokemon have been caught in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO players have racked up some commendable feats since the mobile game’s debut in July. More than 88 billion Pokemon have been caught so far, which is equivalent to about 533 million Pokemon a day. In addition, players have collectively walked over 8.7 billion kilometers. “We are pleased to share that—as of December 7—the Pokémon GO community has collectively walked more than 8.7 billion kilometers,” developer Niantic said on the official Pokemon GO blog. “That’s more than 200,000 trips around Earth! Fun fact: A commercial jetliner would take more than 1,000 years to cover the same distance. While covering this distance, Trainers also caught more than 88 billion Pokémon along the way. That’s roughly 533 million Pokémon a day!” These impressive stats are highlighted in the new stats video below:
