After eight years of development, Pokemon Prism has officially been shutdown by Nintendo. The Pokemon-inspired fan project was scheduled to finally launch next week, but it looks like that has been put on a permanent hold. “Pokemon Prism has been cancelled. Thank you all for your support throughout the years,” writes its creator on a Facebook post. “I’m sorry it ended like this. I will make a longer statement regarding this soon, but expect this page to be shutdown in a few days. Pokemon Prism is the first ROM Hack to be shutdown by Nintendo, as far as I know.” Earlier this year, another fan game by the name of Pokemon Uranium was also shutdown as per Nintendo’s request.
