The folks at Kotaku have compiled a list of the 12 video games they thought were the best of 2016. Naturally, Pokemon Sun and Moon are included in the list for featuring “lots of charm, challenging turn-based battles, new trial system and the reinvention of old monsters.” The publication’s top 12 games of 2016 in alphabetical order are as follows:

- Darkest Dungeon
- Dishonored 2
- Doom
- Dragon Quest Builders
- Hitman
- Inside
- Overwatch
- Pokémon Sun and Moon
- Stardew Valley
- The Witness
