Pokémon Online Competitions are fun events open to everyone playing Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon! It’s easy to register and battle in Online Competitions—just follow the steps below next time you want to play in an upcoming competition.
Register for the Competition at the Pokémon Global Link
You’ll need to register prior to the start of the competition. The registration period is typically the week before it begins.
1. Log in to the PGL and click Online Competitions on the main page.
2. Choose a competition that is open for registration and select Proceed to Sign Up.
3. Agree to the notes and regulations for the competition and select Sign Up.
Download Your Digital Player ID into Your Game
After you’ve registered and before you play your first match, you’ll need to download a Digital Player ID. Note that you’ll also be asked if you want to lock your Battle Team. Once you have locked your team, you won’t be able to further modify your team.
1. Select Festival Plaza in the X menu in your game. (You’ll need to have reached the first Pokémon Center in Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon before Festival Plaza becomes available.)
2. Select Battle, and then select Visit the Battle Spot.
3. Answer Yes to the question, “You will be connected to the Internet. Would you like to continue?”
4. Select Online Competition, and then select Participate in a Competition.
