Mimikyu‘s actual appearance is so frightening that it killed Team Rocket‘s Meowth in the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime. Of course, Meowth was brought back to life after a moment – unlike the scholar who saw what was under Mimikyu’s rag and was overwhelmed by terror and ultimately died from the shock. As the Disguise Pokémon, Mimikyu lives its life constantly covered by its cloth. Mimikyu’s Disguise Ability allows it to escape danger from an enemy’s attack one time, changing its appearance afterward.

Mimikyu has a sweet and heartbreaking bio that also states it wears it’s cloth to hide from sunlight. Why is the show going to such great lengths to make Mimokyu scary and deadly. With is right, the show or the game? At first it was thought it was just this Mimikyu that had such an intense hatred for Pikachu but if they all look like that under their cloth yikes.

I’d say they both portray Mimikyu in a similar way – there’s a reason it doesn’t want anyone to see its true form; it doesn’t want to scare them away. Here’s its Pokédex entry straight from the game: “A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon.” Admittedly, it is pretty sad when you think about it 😦 but guess it’s another way to show that unfortunately some judge others solely on appearance

This Pokémon is so dark that it basically killed Meowth and even my friend Bugsy is scared of that Pokémon. Me thinks he saw too many dark and scary stuff online. XD
