The Pokémon Super Bowl commercial that debuted last year apparently had little to do with Nintendo. The company doesn’t consider it to be Nintendo’s first Super Bowl ad, even though Nintendo partially owns the Pokémon franchise. The Nintendo Switch Super Bowl commercial that aired today, February 5, is actually deemed as Nintendo’s “first-ever Super Bowl ad.” The 30-second spot promotes the upcoming console and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, both of which are set to launch worldwide on March 3.
