New data has revealed that Pokémon GO managed to earn a whopping 96 percent of all augmented reality (AR) revenue in 2016. The mobile title was easily the most popular AR game of the year, even though it wasn’t available until July. Pokémon GO recently came out on top in the “Mobile Game of the Year” category at the 20th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards. Developer Niantic was commended for creating a game that attracted more than 500 million players around the world.
