The core Pokémon games are among the inspirations behind Dragon Ball Fusions. The Nintendo 3DS title was built with tried-and-tested Pokémon RPG elements in mind, according to game producer Masayuki Hirano. “This game was mainly focusing on kids in Japan who liked Dragon Ball,” he explains. “And we noticed that there’s a lot of kids who like, for example, Pokémon or like Yo-kai Watch. These adventuring RPG aspects are really loved by the kids so that’s one of the reasons we decided to create Dragon Ball Fusions.”
