The Pokémon Company celebrates 19 years of operation

The Pokémon Company was officially founded on April 23, 1998 – 19 whole years ago. You may be wondering how this makes sense seeing as how the Pokémon franchise recently celebrated its 21st birthday. However, this is because although the first Pokémon video games originally launched in Japan back in 1996, The Pokémon Company focuses on other aspects and is responsible for brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), the animated TV series, home entertainment and the official Pokémon website.
