Ticket scalpers are ruining the first-ever Pokémon GO Fest, but players won’t be left in the dark for missing out

The inaugural Pokémon Go Fest is set to take place on July 22, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois, but if you missed out on getting a ticket in the initial sale, you may be out of luck. Tickets for Niantic’s Pokémon GO Fest went on sale Monday morning, but the $20 tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes, with scalpers turning around and putting the tickets up for sale through third-party resellers like eBay and Stubhub with individual ticket prices ranging from $150 to $1,000. However, for those who can’t attend because they weren’t able to purchase tickets or don’t want to make the trek to Chicago, some Pokémon GO Fest rewards will still be made available to players.
