Pokémon GO developer Niantic postpones European events after Chicago problems

Several Pokémon GO events planned to take place in Europe next month have been postponed by Niantic. Safari Zone meetups on August 5 in Copenhagen and Prague, then on August 12 in Stockholm and Amsterdam have all been delayed until a “date later in the autumn.” Niantic is postponing its European events in order “to guarantee the best possible gameplay experience for European trainers.” There’s no particular mention of Chicago’s huge Pokémon GO Fest – which suffered from multiple technical issues and ended up a huge PR disaster – but it’s apparent that this is a direct reaction to it.
