Pokémon GO developer Niantic resolves sign in issue and extends Equinox event

Earlier today, September 26, there was an issue that prevented a number of Pokémon GO players from signing in to the mobile game’s servers. However, this issue has since been resolved and to compensate for the downtime, Niantic has decided to extend the period for the Equinox 2017 celebration event. The developer’s statement on the matter is as follows:

Early this morning, we discovered an issue which prevented several players from logging into the game. After working with our partners, we were able to resolve the issue and can now confirm that login functionality has fully stabilized.

As a result of this outage, the equinox celebration will be extended by 24-hours and will now end at 1:00 P.M. PDT on October 3. We greatly appreciate your patience and hope to see you out and about earning Stardust and hatching Eggs.
