The August 2017 trailer for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon displays one particular scene that suggested that Lt. Surge of Vermilion City’s iconic Gym would be featured in the upcoming duo of Pokémon games. Lt. Surge’s Gym is filled with trash cans, each one containing a switch that controlled electrical traps. Bins can be spotted in the aforementioned trailer for a passing moment, and they look strikingly similar in setup to those in Vermilion City’s Gym. However, it turns out that this location is actually a brand-new area. “What you’ve seen in that particular image is a new place to visit in [Sun and Moon location] Malie City, which, while we were designing it, we did have some thoughts of the Kanto region,” explains Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon director Kazumasa Iwao. “But any more than that is a little difficult to say that at the moment, so look forward to playing that.” Check out the IGN video below for more:
