Pokémon developer Game Freak has shared a new aspect of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon in regard to the new Mantine Surf feature. According to director Kazumasa Iwao, points earned from Mantine Surf can be used to get items and have Move Tutors teach your Pokémon moves that they couldn’t learn in the original Pokémon Sun and Moon games. This is similar to other enhanced versions, sequels and remakes of Pokémon games. However, it’s currently unknown if points can be obtained via other methods or if the points are Battle Points.
