Earlier this week, Miriam Ziegler, one half of an Austrian figure skating pair with Severin Kiefer, retrieved an unusual token after the team’s performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics – a Gengar Pokémon plushie someone threw on the ice. There’s no indication Ziegler has a special fondness for Pokémon. Some are suggesting she had a beloved Gengar that carried her through Pokémon Yellow, but there’s no evidence to confirm that’s the case.
