Recap: Pokémon GO Adventure Week 2018 officially concludes around the world in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO recently kicked off two weeks of adventure as part of this year’s Adventure Week, which lasted through June 5 at 20:00 UTC. This event featured a heavy emphasis on Rock-type Pokémon, so fans were able to come across many Pokémon like Geodude, Omanyte, Kabuto, Nosepass, Aron, Lileep and Anorith. Shiny Omanyte, Shiny Kabuto and Shiny Aerodactyl have also made their Pokémon GO debuts. Naturally, Shiny Omanyte and Shiny Kabuto evolve into Shiny Omastar and Shiny Kabutops, respectively. In addition to all the special Pokémon that were making appearances during this two-week event, other bonuses were active as well. Buddy Pokémon were able to find Candy four times as fast while out walking. Niantic has also shared a special image of Omanyte, an AR screenshot of Lileep and a screenshot of Larvitar as a Buddy Pokémon approaching PokéStops.

Spinning the Photo Disc at a PokéStop or Gym earned you extra XP – twice the XP for spinning a Photo Disc that you’ve already visited and a whopping 10 times the XP for spinning a new Photo Disc. Players were also given unique Field Research tasks during these two weeks. New rewards included a Raid Battle appearance by Pokémon such as Aerodactyl and Shiny Aerodactyl. New Raid Bosses also included Kabuto, Lileep and Anorith as Level 1 Raid Bosses; Sudowoodo, Magcargo and Nosepass as Level 2 Raid Bosses; Lunatone, Solrock and Shuckle as Level 3 Raid Bosses; and Rhydon as a Level 4 Raid Boss. There were three new boxes available for purchase via the in-game store as well:

  • Special Box – three Incense, three Egg Incubators and five Lucky Eggs for 480 PokéCoins
  • Great Box – six Incense, six Super Incubators, eight Lucky Eggs and six Lure Modules for 780 PokéCoins
  • Ultra Box – 12 Super Incubators, 15 Lucky Eggs, eight Premium Raid Passes and 15 Lure Modules for 1480 PokéCoins
