Pokémon GO has introduced social and trading features that allow Trainers to connect with each other by adding friends, sending Gifts and participating in a new Friendship level system that unlocks bonuses. These brand-new features are now available for all players. Adding Pokémon GO Friends was initially only available for players who are at a Level 40 standing. However, friends, gifting and trading are now live for those level 38 to 40. Niantic will be gradually rolling out these features to other levels soon.
Trainers can now trade Pokémon with other Trainers nearby, earning a Candy Bonus for the Pokémon received. Niantic wants to know who your first Pokémon GO friend will be, so be sure to let the developer know via social media. Trading Legendary Pokémon, Pokémon in your Pokédex and Shiny Pokémon require 20,000 Stardust for trading. Legendary Pokémon you don’t have in your Pokédex or Shiny Legendary Pokémon you don’t have require a whopping 1,000,000 Stardust. Standard trades require 100 Stardust. When traded, Legendary Pokémon can drop below the 10/10/10 IV spread that was a minimum upon capturing.
