Last year, Pikachu and Hello Kitty were appointed by Japanese foreign minister Tarō Kōno. The two prominent entertainment icons are officially serving as ambassadors to promote the city of Osaka, Japan, for the Osaka Kansai Japan Expo 2025. The host of the Expo 2025 is scheduled to be announced in November 2018. The Pokémon Company recently shared official artwork for the Pikachu mascot. In addition, the below promo has been released as an attempt to convince everyone that Japan would be a great choice. The video includes appearances by Charizard, Snorlax and Eevee. It even includes an appearance by Japan Prime Minister Shinzō Abe alongside Pikachu:
