Niantic recently announced its plans for Pokémon GO’s second anniversary, which includes the new Summer Style Pikachu and the Mythical Pokémon Celebi. Pikachu and Pichu will appear more frequently later today (July 6 PT) until July 31. A special Summer Style Pikachu, that’s decked out in a straw hat and sunglasses, will be available later this year. Pikachu Fan Avatar items will soon be available for purchase. Trainers with a gold Pikachu Fan medal will be able to purchase all related items, which include a T-shirt and Pikachu ears. Increased storage capacity is now available in the in-game shop, allowing you to hold up to 2,000 Pokémon. In addition, Special Research on the Mythical Pokémon Celebi will be available globally in the near future.
